Interpreting vs. Translating
The difference between the two is very simple. Interpreting is oral while translating is written. So when in court, a court interpreter will verbally interpret the conversations between attorney, judge, and the defendant. If given a document, the interpreter will either translate the document orally by sight, or will translate the document in written form.
